how to make fried chicken

Fried chicken is one of those foods that almost everyone loves. This crunchy-coated chicken is great served with mashed potatoes and green beans or a simple green salad.




Instructions

things you'll need:

  • 2 pounds of chicken pieces
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 3 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • Vegetable oil

  • Flour
  • Egg
  • Chicken pieces

      Rinse the chicken pieces then pat them dry.

      Whisk milk and eggs together.

      Combine flour, salt and pepper in a resealable plastic bag.

      Dip a chicken piece in the milk then let the excess drip off.

      Drop the chicken in the plastic bag then shake to coat it in the flour.

      Remove the chicken and set aside on a covered plate.

      Repeat steps 4 to 6 with the remaining chicken pieces.

      Heat oil in a skillet.

      Fry the chicken in batches for around 10 minutes per side (breasts may cook a little quicker).

      Remove cooked chicken from the skillet and set aside on paper towels to drain off excess oil.
